A new construction or "tear-out" installation, as the name implies, requires the removal of the existing window or door frame. This process involves chipping back the stucco several inches around the perimeter of the existing frame. The wire lath, building paper and flashing are then pulled back, exposing the nail fin of the old frame. The nails attaching the old frame to the existing structure are pulled and the old window or door frame is removed. A new nail-on or new construction frame is installed square and plumb and professionally sealed with high grade caulking and new flashing material. The building paper and wire lath are put back in place and the stucco is patched. Specifically formulated materials are used to allow completion of the stucco patch in one day with no cracking and existing textures are expertly matched. The interior drywall is patched and textured as required and/or any pre-selected interior wood trim options are applied. This is the installation method typically employed by California Replacement Windows to change out sliding glass patio doors. From start to clean up, the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship are evident throughout the installation process.
